The NYC Department of Parks and Recreation have recently released a manual called “High Performance Landscape Guidelines: 21st Century Parks for NYC.” The publication is just one more step in Mayor Bloomberg’s PlaNYC 2030.
While this guide is meant for New York City parks, after flipping through I’ve found that many of the guidelines are universally beneficial to parks anywhere. I plan on using them as a checklist of topics for my capstone project as well. It is great to see a city put out such a comprehensive package for the public to not only see, but for other municipalities to use.
